Redesign in Retrospect: CUNY Graduate Center

Wouldn't it be great if you had the hindsight to understand how your big projects were shaped so it could help you in the future? Reflecting on our redesigned website launched in 2022, I have thought long and hard about the things we did right and the things we did wrong.

The CUNY Graduate Center's website redesign project consisted of more than 37,000 new or migrated pages, utilizing a new CMS (switching from Kentico to Drupal), moving to cloud-hosting, creating website governance and processes, and training CMS users.

While we were ultimately satisfied with the finished product, looking back there are several things to learn from the process. This talk will share project management tips for future website redesigns.
